The reporter of Radio Azattyq in Uralsk Maria Melnikova was not connected online to the open court session in the case of a Russian citizen accused of crossing the border of Kazakhstan without permission. The judge’s secretary only informed the journalist that the judge was in the deliberation room and did not respond to Maria’s messages. The reporter was later informed that the verdict had already been announced. Melnikova was also not provided with a press release.
