On 22 October, CJSC Nork-Marash Medical Centre and several of its doctors filed another lawsuit with the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction against LLC Social Media, the founder of the news website Mamul.am. The lawsuit was prompted by numerous articles regularly published on the site, which alleged that the centre’s doctors were failing to properly fulfil their professional duties, in some cases refusing to provide assistance, and that unlawful transactions were being carried out at the medical institution. The claimant is demanding that the defendant be required to refute the information considered to be defamatory, as well as to pay monetary compensation for each defamatory statement. The case is currently under consideration.
