On August 8, judge’s assistant Shogik Durian filed a lawsuit in the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction against the news agency Sputnik Armenia, Social Media LLC (founder of Mamul.am), International Media Holding LLC (founder of the online TV company Euromedia 24), Zhoghovurd Newspaper Editorial LLC (founder of Armlur.am), Azatutyun TV LLC (founder of the online TV and news site Azatutyun.am, run by Radio Liberty), and Pastinfo LLC (founder of Pastinfo.am). She is demanding a retraction of information considered defamatory, as well as monetary compensation for damage to her honor and dignity. The lawsuit was triggered by an article published on April 30 on Pastinfo.am, later reposted on the other platforms, which claimed that in the criminal case against judge Artush Gabrielyan there were several arrests, including his assistant, who was allegedly charged with aiding in bribery. The case is currently under review.
