A Chechen blogger Mamikhan Umarov (known as Anzor from Vienna), was shot dead on Vienna's outskirts. The blogger posted YouTube videos criticising Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of the autonomous Chechen Republic in Russia and a powerful ally of President Putin. His fellow countryman was detained on suspicion of murder.
