The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus declared the project Malanka Media an «extremist formation». The list of «extremist formations» includes the project’s website, its Telegram and YouTube channels, and accounts in all social networks. According to the law, any interaction with the resources declared «extremist formations» (for users, even a subscription or repost) can be grounds for criminal prosecution and imprisonment for up to 7 years for participation in an extremist formation or assistance to an extremist formation (Article 361-1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus). On June 22, 2023, the information content of the Malanka Media account in TikTok was found to be extremist materials. The decision was made on the request of the prosecutor’s office of the Krupsky District, reported the prosecutor’s office of the Minsk Region.
