Maksim Solopov was covering the presidential elections in Belarus on an editorial assignment from Meduza. He was detained and beaten by police officers. For almost two days, there was no contact with him. It was later revealed that he was held in the pre-trial detention center. On August 11, the journalist was released and taken to the Russian embassy.
