Security officials detained the journalist in the yard of the building, where the well-known activist Nina Baginskaya lived when her apartment was being searched. On November 6, Nesterkou was found guilty based on the police report and arrested for 12 days. He was taken to the police department, where he was accused of participating in an unauthorized event (Article 23.34 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Belarus) and held in a detention centre until the trial.
