Mairbek Agayev, editor-in-chief of Chernovik, was fined RUB 60,000 by the court for republishing an article by Novaya Gazeta on the media’s website. According to the case materials, the publication contained «unreliable publicly significant information about the actions of the Russian Armed Forces on the territory of Ukraine, the dissemination of which poses a threat of mass violation of public order and public safety». However, the article was removed from the website of Chernovik after the corresponding request of Roskomnadzor. The article under which the editor-in-chief of Chernovik was fined is Part 9 of Article 13.15 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation (dissemination in the media of deliberately false information under the guise of reliable information, creating a threat of harm to life and health, and public safety).
