The journalist of the Ukrainian media Graty Lutfiye Zudiyeva was detained outside the building of the Supreme Court of Crimea. According to the media, Zudiyeva was supposed to cover the trial of the deputy head of the Crimean Tatar People’s Majlis Nariman Dzhelyal and the Akhtemov brothers, who are accused of sabotage. First, Zudiyeva was not allowed into the court, and then she was taken to the police. She had with her a press card and an editorial assignment. Together with the journalist, the law enforcers detained 12 Crimean Tatars, including relatives and friends of the accused. At the police station, they tried to take fingerprints from Zudiyeva by threatening her, but she refused. On July 28, 2023, the journalist was fined RUB 12,000 under the article on the organisation of a single mass stay of citizens (Part 1 of Article 20.2.2.2 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation).
