18th November, Yerevan - Advisor to the Mayor Lusine Dayan brought a lawsuit against the owner of news site Lurer.com (LLC International Media Holding), demanding that they publicly apologise, retract claims which the plaintiff considers slanderous, and pay 3 million dirham in compensation (more than 7,500 USD). The lawsuit comes as a result of a 17th of October article on Lurer, according to which the Mayor's office gave a contract for a city event to an organization whose CEO is in close relations with Dayan, who is an advisor to the mayor as well as the head of the Central Administrative District of Yerevan. The article claims that no public tender was held for the contract. On the 4th of December the suit was withdrawn in order to make corrections to the documents, and the plaintiff's petition for a moratorium on paying the court fee was rejected.
