Journalist Lukpan Akhmedyarov was arrested for 15 days by order of the Court of Administrative Offences of Uralsk on charges of organizing an unauthorized rally. On April 9, the journalist went to Manshuk Mametova Square to be sure that an event was taking place there, which caused him to be refused permission to hold a rally on that day. When he saw that the event was indeed taking place, Lukpan Akhmedyarov, with the permission of the organizers, went on stage and made a short speech. «In my speech, I only urged the youth to obey the laws of our country. And nothing else. Moreover, when the head of the internal policy department, Yerbol Kushekov, came up to me and demanded that I stop my speech, I immediately stopped it and left the stage. That is, I did exactly what was prescribed by law», — said Akhmedyarov.
