The General Prosecutor’s Office announced the detention of 14 people as part of a preliminary investigation into a criminal case opened under Part 4 of Article 159 (conspiracy to seize power or overthrow the constitutional order) of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan in connection with the mass riots in Karakalpakstan. There were found signs of crimes encroaching on public security in the actions of Kallykhanova, says the report of the General Prosecutor’s Office. «She was brought as a suspect in the case and was detained according to procedure», — the supervisory authority said.
