On 19 December, Narek Vanesyan, Chair of the National Medical Commission, filed a lawsuit with the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction against LLC “Zhoghovurd Newspaper Editorial Office”, seeking a retraction of information he considers defamatory and compensation in the amount of 300,000 drams (approximately $800) for damage to his honour, dignity and business reputation. The grounds for the lawsuit were an article entitled “How funds allocated for COVID were squandered during Arsen Torosyan’s tenure as Minister of Health: corruption, part 6”, published on 20 November on the news website Armlur.am, owned by the said LLC. The case is currently under consideration.
