The Tbilisi City Court has sentenced Lika Basilaia-Shavgulidze, a journalist and board member of the Georgian Public Broadcaster, to five days of administrative detention on charges of insulting police officers and hooliganism. Basilaia-Shavgulidze was attending a protest on 22 October, during which dozens of demonstrators were arrested under the new restrictive laws on freedom of assembly.
