The Leninsky District Court of Grodno has recognised the Telegram channel titled “Lichtar” (t.me/lichtare) and the Telegram chat of the same name as extremist informational materials. “Lichtar” is a new informational project by the independent Belarusian-language publication Nasha Niva. Based on the court’s ruling, the Ministry of Information of Belarus has added these online resources to the “Republican List of Extremist Materials.” According to Belarusian legislation, the distribution and possession of materials designated as extremist is subject to administrative liability for both publishers and users.
