The law enforcers detained former journalist Larysa Shchyrakova, prior to that having searched her flat and confiscated digital equipment. According to relatives, the search was more like a pogrom and the law enforcers did not leave any seizure report. Shchyrakova was placed in a temporary detention centre and her minor son was sent to a shelter. The reason for the detention is unknown, and the relatives were not informed. Also, the detention center administration refused to accept a parcel of food and hygiene products. Shchyrakova used to cooperate with the Belsat TV channel, but in 2021, she publicly announced that she was leaving the profession due to administrative pressure on her professional activities.
