Larysa Shchiryakova was summoned to the police, where a report was drawn up on her for violation of the law on mass events (Article 23.34 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Belarus) for reposting information about the action of solidarity with the protesting students in a social network. Shchiryakova refused to undergo the fingerprinting procedure, as a result of which another administrative report was drawn up on her for disobedience to the police. The journalist was sent to the detention centre for almost a day until the trial, even though it contradicted the law — Larysa was raising an underage child on her own. On September 4, the court found her guilty and fined her 5 basic amounts.
