Security forces conducted searches at the home of journalist Larisa Tuptsokova’s parents in Adygea and questioned her relatives as part of an extremism case. The letter notifying Tuptsokova of the charges arrived nearly two weeks late. As reported by Caucasian Knot, journalist and Circassian activist Larisa Tuptsokova, who lives in Georgia, learned at the end of September that a criminal case had been opened against her in Russia under the article on extremism. About a month earlier, a fake website of the Circassian Cultural Centre in Tbilisi, which has been designated extremist, appeared online, featuring publications under Larisa Tuptsokova’s name.
