Jalal-Abad Regional Court issued a guilty verdict under the article «Abuse of authority» against Kuttumidin Bazarkulov, who had been detained since November 2021. The court recovered KGS 3 million 215 thousand from Bazarkulov as compensation to the state. The journalist was released from the courtroom due to the expiration of the statute of limitations for the crime for which he was charged. Bazarkulov was arrested and charged on suspicion of illegally conducting a tender in 2015-2016 when he was in charge of the Jalal-Abad television and radio company. The journalist calls his accusation «politically motivated».
