On August 2, 2023, in Simferopol, in the apartment where civil journalist Kulamet Ibraimov is formally registered but does not live, unknown persons in balaclavas conducted a search. The resolution was read out before the search, no documents were left behind. Phones and other digital media were seized from all those who lived in the apartment. According to Ibraimov, the search was related to his professional activities and the law enforcers threatened his relatives that he would be in trouble if he did not stop covering repressions.
