The police saw in the actions of journalist Ksenia Sobchak the dissemination of fakes about the government. As explained by the source of TASS, it was a fake «about state funding of festivals». The police opened a criminal case against documentary filmmaker Vitaly Mansky for an interview with Sobchak in which he said that the Moscow International Film Festival «steals at least 85% of the budget». Sobchak was questioned in this criminal case as a witness — when asked who posted the «fake information», she said that she was ready to answer for everything herself. The police sent to the Moscow department of the Investigative Committee the request to open a criminal case.
