Journalist Ksenia Chyndarava from the online publication Shtodzien was detained in the city and taken for interrogation to the regional office of the KGB in the Gomel region. There, she was questioned for two hours about her cooperation with the Shtodzien online outlet. During the interrogation, she was threatened with up to seven years in prison for allegedly aiding extremist activity — in 2023, the Belarusian KGB designated the independent publication Shtodzien as an "extremist organisation."
