Korkem Usibaliyeva, the journalist of the Otyrar TV channel, received threats of physical violence from an unknown man after her story about sexual harassment was published. The threats came in personal emails on Instagram. The man wrote: «I will pour acid on your face when you go to work alone. I’ll run you over with my car. I’ll ruin your reputation at work. I know your phone number, I’ll post it on all the hooker websites. You’ll hang yourself with shame and embarrassment. I’ll set your door on fire when you’re sleeping. I know your exact address... I’ve been following you and I know where you live». Usibaliyeva filed a complaint with the police.
