A group of activists and bloggers held a press conference demanding to apply Russian practice and give foreign agent status to some media, in particular, Kaktus.media, Radio Azattyk, and Kloop. The activists demanded that the media «disclose the sources of their funding; each story must include the name of the journalist and the source of funding for the website. They must have the status of a foreign agent». The law-in-draft on foreign agents began to be discussed in the Kyrgyz parliament back in 2016.
