The Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case against the editor-in-chief of Novaya Gazeta Europe Kirill Martynov for running an «undesirable organisation» (Part 3 of Article 281.4 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The journalist is abroad. The Prosecutor General’s Office declared Novaya Gazeta Europe an «undesirable organisation» in June 2023.
