On April 8, the court ordered the arrest of the blogger Khodzhiakbar Nosirov for 15 days. In one of his videos, Nosirov stated that it is impossible for Muslims to eat certain yogurts because they contain a substance called carmine. The blogger expressed his personal religious views. A Tashkent police department press release stressed that individuals are not allowed to interfere in the personal lives of others by giving religious connotations to various issues on their own initiative. The blogger is the administrator of Activist, a social media project with a total of nearly one million subscribers. An administrative report was drawn up against Nosirov under articles 184-3 (production, storage or distribution of materials propagandizing national, racial, ethnic, or religious enmity) and 194 (failure to comply with the lawful demands of an internal affairs officer) of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
