The journalist was summoned to the Investigative Committee for interrogation as a witness in the criminal case of hazing in the army. Before that, she had been preparing an article about an incident among the conscripts. On January 29, Katsiaryna was summoned to the Sovetsky District Police Department to testify as a witness in the criminal case under Part 2 of Article 455 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus («Abuse of power or official position connected with violence or committed with the use of weapons»).
