The employees of the news portal TUT.BY — journalist Alena Talkachova, editor-in-chief of the political and economic news block Volha Loika, and lawyer Katsiaryna Tkachenka — did not appear in court. It became known that they managed to evacuate from Belarus. On May 18, 2021, they were detained together with other colleagues on the day of the breakdown of the editorial office and placed in custody as part of the criminal case brought against TUT.BY. In July 2022, they were released from pre-trial detention on personal recognisance. The Belarusian authorities put Talkachova, Loika, and Tkachenka on the international wanted list and the criminal case against them was reclassified into a separate court proceeding.
