Katsiaryna Andreeva, a journalist currently serving a sentence in Homel women’s colony, was charged with high treason. Now Katsiaryna faces imprisonment from 7 to 15 years. «We don’t know on what basis the accusation arose. The case was led by the KGB department of Homel region, the investigation was held in complete secrecy — that is, until yesterday, within 55 days after her transfer to the detention center, the relatives didn’t know. We do not know anything about the charge», — her husband, journalist Ihar Ilyash, wrote on Facebook. It should be note that Belsat TV channel journalists Katsiaryna Andreeva and Darya Chultsova were detained on November 15, 2020, while covering a street protest in Minsk. First, they were sentenced to 7 days for «participation in an unauthorized action and disobedience». Then, they were charged with organisation and preparation of actions grossly violating public order. On February 18, 2021, Andreeva and Chultsova were sentenced to 2 years of jail.
