The film crew of the Khabar 24 TV channel in Shymkent — journalists Katerina Popkova and cameraman Nurmakhan Bekmuratov — was refused entry to the venue of a concert celebrating City Day. Representatives of the media showed their service IDs. However, the policeman shouted that he would not let anyone through anyway and blocked the passage. The film crew had to go around the stage and film from the other side.
