The police detained the acting head of the Almaty office of Radio Azattyq Kasym Amanzhol and released him after holding him in the police department for about two hours. The journalist who was carrying out his professional duties (Kasym Amanzhol had been filming protests near the Zhetysu market) was detained by the police even though he showed his press ID. Amanzhol was put in a car and taken to the Medeu District Police Department. The reasons for the journalist's detention were unknown. Two hours later, Amanzhol was released, the police apologized to him.
