The Moscow prosecutor’s office asked the Moscow City Court to liquidate the Journalists’ and Media Workers’ Union. On July 4, at the request of the prosecutor’s office, it suspended the Union’s work due to the opening of an administrative case on discrediting the army (Part 1 of Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation). The reason was the publication on a website with «false information» about the war in Ukraine. The Moscow City Court granted the prosecutor’s office’s motion before considering the merits of the liquidation case.
