S. Naumtsev, who was convicted for the murder of a schoolgirl, filed a lawsuit in Uralsk to recognise the unlawful dissemination of his personal data, to protect his right to an image and to recover moral damages. The defendant in the case was Journalist Initiative LLP, the founder of the media outlet Uralskaya Nedelya. Naumtsev filed a lawsuit in connection with the publication «Suspect in the murder of a schoolgirl in Aktobe filmed porn», posted on the Uralskweek.kz website on 24.10.2013. The publication was an article from another media outlet with a link to the original source, which was illustrated with Naumtsev’s image — a photo from his ID card. On October 3, the court dismissed Naumtsev’s claim.
