The court in Uralsk ruled on the lawsuit to protect the honour, dignity and business reputation of lawyer A. Mukangaliyev against the owner of Uralskaya Nedelya — Journalist Initiative LLP. The reason was the article «In the West Kazakhstan Region, villagers accuse the lawyer who owns a farm of stealing other people’s horses» published on the social media pages of the newspaper on April 17, 2023. The material quotes residents of the settlement who told the journalist about the problem. The plaintiff’s claims were satisfied — to recognise the disputed information as untrue and defamatory, to oblige the defendant to publish a refutation on the newspaper’s social media pages. The refutation should be published within 10 calendar days from the moment the court decision came into legal force. The decision came into legal force on October 9.
