The owner of the Uralskaya Nedelya newspaper, Journalist Initiative LLP, was brought to court as a third party on the side of the defendant in a lawsuit for the protection of honor, dignity, and business reputation of ex-police officer Haydar Zheksenov against Asel Alkanova. Zheksenov filed a lawsuit against his ex-wife for reporting to the mass media about the beatings on his part, to which she had been subjected for six years. On February 19, the proceedings against the media owner were terminated due to the fact that the plaintiff did not comply with the procedure of pre-trial settlement of the dispute.
