The head of the Dashkesan district executive power Ahad Abiev filed a lawsuit against the journalist Javid Shiraliyev under the procedure of special accusation. The official demands to arrest the journalist for libel. On June 22, the Masally District Court accepted the complaint for production. Article 147 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan provides a punishment of imprisonment for up to three years for libel.
