Bernikovich was covering a protest against the results of the presidential election in the center of Hlybokaye. He was detained and taken to the police department, where he was drawn up a report on violating the law on mass events (Article 23.34 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Belarus). He was held in the detention center for 24 hours. On August 24, the judge postponed the hearing, after which the blogger was released.
