The Chertanovo District Court fined political analyst and journalist Ivan Preobrazhensky 10,000 rubles (approximately €100, depending on the exchange rate) for taking part in the Meduza podcast “What Happened,” where he discussed the parliamentary elections in the Czech Republic. He was charged under Article 20.33 of the Russian Code of Administrative Offences for participating in the activities of an “undesirable” organisation. In May 2023, Russia’s Ministry of Justice designated Preobrazhensky as a “foreign agent.” Later, in December 2024, authorities opened a criminal case against him under Part 2 of Article 330.1 of the Criminal Code, alleging failure to comply with the legal requirements imposed on individuals labeled as “foreign agents.”
