The Tsentralny District Court of Chita fined local resident Ivan Losev RUB 120,000 after finding him guilty of repeated «discrediting» of the army (Part 1 of Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Losev was tried for having published on Instagram «a photo image with a text inscription discrediting the activities of representatives of the Russian Armed Forces participating in a special military operation on the territory of Ukraine». The court ruled to confiscate «the means of committing the offence» — Losev’s iPhone — to the income of the state.
