A sixth criminal case has been opened in Russia against political emigrant blogger Islam Belokiyev for justifying terrorism. The reason was a post in which Belokiyev called one of the participants in the March 2023 shootout with police in Ingushetia a «shahid». The previous case against Belokiyev was initiated in March 2023 on suspicion of financing terrorism because of his call to help the Sheikh Mansur Chechen battalion fighting on the side of Ukraine. Belokiyev’s criminal prosecution started in 2021 — he was accused of insulting symbols of military glory for a video about May 9.
