Irina Babloyan, as well as the editor-in-chief of Echo of Moscow Alexey Venediktov and several other former employees of the radio station, and many of their colleagues from other independent media were subjected to a massive spam attack on their cell phones. They began receiving numerous calls and messages with registration confirmation codes for various services, including Gosuslugi, banks, and stores. Presumably, this was an attempt to hack into accounts. Journalists of TV Rain, Bumaga, Mediazona, 7x7, The Village, and Republic, among others, reported such attacks.
