In the Davidgareji monastery (Kakheti region), a group of priests and local residents beat up the film crew of the Mtavari Arhi TV channel. Journalists filmed a report for Saturday's analytical program about a high-profile case against cartographers in connection with the demarcation of the Georgian-Azerbaijani border. The cameraman's equipment was also damaged. Ombudsman of Georgia Nino Lomjaria called on the investigating authorities to promptly and effectively investigate the attacks on journalists. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has launched an investigation into the attack, it is reported that the priests were drunk.
