On 10 July, Vardan Badasyan, the father of Armenian Attorney General Rustam Badasyan filed a lawsuit against the founders of the following websites: News.am, Analitik.am, 168.am, Iravunk.com, Blognews.am, Alternativ.am, Ipress.am. He demanded refutations of articles that he considers libellous and compensation for insulting honour, dignity and business reputation. The reason behind the lawsuit is a series of articles about Vardan Bdasyan’s activities from the time when he occupied a high posistion in the government. According to the articles, Badasyan-senior handed out job positions for money. On 20 July, the legal proceedings begun.
