The Russian news agency Interfax decided to close its Belarusian subsidiary — the news agency Interfax-West. «From January 1, 2022, Interfax-West stops working in Belarus in order not to violate the Belarusian law», — explained Interfax director Mikhail Komissar. According to the new regulations dopted in Belarus, mass media cannot be owned by more than 20% by foreign founders, while the Russian agency was the 100% founder of Interfax-West.
