The final hearing in the criminal case against blogger Imamaddin Alimanov, who resides abroad, took place at the Baku Court on Grave Crimes. Presided over by Judge Huseyn Huseynli, the court announced a verdict in absentia, sentencing Alimanov to seven years in prison. He was convicted under Article 12.1 and 281.2 of the Criminal Code for repeated public calls against the state. Alimanov is the founder of the YouTube channel “Xalq TV.”
