Additional information:

It has emerged that the Department of Internal Affairs of the Homel Region has issued a search for Russian investigative journalist and presenter of the programme “We Can Explain”, Ilya Davlyatchin. The journalist learned that he was wanted in November 2024. However, the reasons for the pursuit have only now become clear from a certificate issued by the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs. The document states that Davlyatchin was placed on the wanted list on 25 November 2024 under Article 361–4, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Belarus (assisting extremist activity). He faces up to seven years’ imprisonment. According to the rules of the Union State, if a case is opened in Belarus, the individual is automatically added to the Russian wanted database. The criminal case is linked to Davlyatchin’s participation in the talk show “Plan:B” on the Belsat TV channel, which has been recognised in Belarus as an “extremist formation.”
