The Tverskoy District Court of Moscow fined journalist and municipal deputy Ilya Azar RUB 2,000 under the article on demonstration of extremist symbols (Article 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation). Azar was punished for a post from August 2021 with «Smart Voting» symbols. The fine under the «extremist» article disqualifies a person from participating in elections.
