On March 8, the Khatai District Court of Baku chose a preventive measure for the detainees in the Toplum TV case. According to the decision, Akif Gurbanov, Ramil Babayev, and Ilkin Amrakhov were arrested for 4 months each. The journalists were charged under Article 206.3.2 (contraband committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
