Journalist Igor Kuznetsov, currently being held in Penal Colony No. 3 in Tomsk, has reported being subjected to torture. A radio is played at full volume in his cell from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m., and prison guards ignore his requests to turn it off. Kuznetsov suffers from hypertension and diabetes. In February 2024, he was sentenced to six and a half years in a general-regime colony under charges of “public calls for extremism” due to his anti-war posts on social media.
