A criminal case on drug possession (Article 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) was initiated against Igor Khoroshilov, former editor-in-chief of the Rostov-based newspaper Golos. The journalist is currently under house arrest. According to investigators, illegal substances were found in his apartment during the April search on the case of anonymous wiretaps. On February 2, 2022, the Proletarsky District Court of Rostov sentenced Khoroshilov to 300 hours of community service.
